New Customs & Immigration Records for Port of Detroit

FamilySearch has added customs immigration cards for Canadians entering Michigan at the Port of Detroit (1906 to 1954), likely to work in the auto industry in Michigan. Some records from Port Huron or Sault Ste Marie are also included in this collection.

Information available on these cards include:
  • Name
  • Country of origin
  • Age
  • Marital status
  • Occupation
  • Place of birth
  • Destination address in the U.S.
These cards also contain the date and port of entry when the person immigrated to Canada, even if it was several years previous to this move.
