New Online Resources

¨ FamilySeach.org has indexed some 246,000 records from its collection of Ontario marriage certificates.

¨ The Public Archives of Nova Scotia has put two historic newspapers online: The Acadian Recorder and the Liverpool Transcript.

¨ A new website has launched on the War of 1812. This website tells the story from the Canadian perspective. http://www.thewarof1812.net/

¨ The Niagara Peninsula branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has created an index for all the funeral records from Morse & Sons Funeral Home in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This is the oldest funeral home in Niagara Falls.

¨ The Canadian Museum of Civilization has a fascinating collection of Canadian mail order catalogues. The catalogues span the years from 1880 to 1975.

¨ Library and Archives Canada (LAC) has released a collection of some 121,000
¨ immigration records for people who passed into Canada from United States
¨ between 1908 to 1918 and 1925 to 1935.

¨ Library and Archives Canada has updated its Upper Canada Land Petitions
¨ database, which covers the years 1763 to 1865.

¨ Library and Archives Canada has launched a new database called Royal Canadian Navy Ledger Sheets. These are records of individuals who served in the Canadian Navy from 1910 to 1918.
