Resources for Researching Your Native Ancestry

Library and Archives Canada has updated their online resources to include their guide, "Researching Your Aboriginal Ancestry at Library and Archives Canada" While this produces helpful information on how to go about researching ancestors in general, it provides very little in the way of online databases and nothing specific to Native ancestors.

Aboriginal Connections

http://directory.aboriginalconnections.com/Canada/Heritage_and_Culture/Genealogy/index.html

provides more comprehensive information and links to searchable databases including The Hudson's Bay Company Archives, St George's Bay Mi'kmaq, The Metis Man and the Native Adoption Page.

Happy searching!
