We Are Gearing Up for Fall

Although the calendar tells us that the new year begins January 1, for many of us, the first Tuesday in Sept feels more the like the beginning of a new year. An opportuity to get back into routines and schedules after the wonderful hiatus of summer vacation. At the Brant OGS, we have a full line up of activities at the ready and we hope you will join us. Here's what we have on offer:

  • Saturday Sept 24 - We will be attending Norfolklore where we will have books, CDs and other publications for sale. For more on Norfolklore, visit their website at http://www.norfolklore.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=20
  • Sunday Sept 25th @ 2:00 pm - our regular monthly meeting with Guest Speaker Gerry Miller who will be speaking on Jewish Families of Brantford and Brant County
  • Saturday, October 22nd will be our annual FALL WORKSHOP. This workshop will focus on Writing and Publishing your Family History
  • Saturday October 29th - we will be attending the First Annual Genealogy Fair at the Kitchener Public Library where we will once again have books, CDs and other publications for sale. As well, I will be giving a talk on Using Google for Genealogy in the afternoon.   • Saturday October 29th - we will also be attending the Region IV annual general meeting in St Catherines, hosted by the Niagara Branch of the OGS. Once again we will have books, CDs and other publications for sale.
  • Friday November 18th - A Road Trip to the Ontario Archives - the bus will be leaving at 8:15 and we will have a full day at the Archives. To register, contact me at brantogsblog@gmail.com
  • Sunday November 27th @ 2pm - our monthly meeting with Guest Speaker Chad Martin who will be speaking on POWs and the 65th Anniversary of the End of WWII
